It possesses with 1.464 hectares of land leased from residents of Ciumai Village and neighboring villages, from local mayoralty and vocational training school. Part of the land is allotted for crops of wheat, corn, pea, sunflower, for growing fruits and vegetables, whereas the most part of areas is occupied by vineyards, because vine-growing is a priority direction of the cooperative’s activity. «Ciumai-Agro» vineyards were planted not long ago with seedlings grown in own nurseries under special technology. The planting material, classical varieties Cabernet, Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay etc, is sold also to other holdings of the region, if ordered. Besides new plantations, there are old vineyards in the holding, which need to be rehabilitated (re plantation, grafting). In general, works are mechanized and are carried out with the help of special equipment purchased from manufacturers from Russia, Ukraine, Czech Republic etc. Only few operations require manual labor, There are 270 persons working in «Ciumai-Agro». Mainly, they are engaged in planting out and caring over vineyards, as well as in production processing. Members of the cooperative are not only provided with working places, but also receive worthy salary. The houses of residents of the villages entering into composition of the «Ciumai-Agro» cooperative are supplied with gas. In the nearest future, it is intended to lay out the water supply pipeline. Mills, oil-mills, schools, kindergartens, a hospital, sport clubs (APC «Ciumai- Agro» is a general sponsor of the football team «Ciumai») operate at the territory of the holding. Management of the holding carries on charitable actions to support veterans of labor and funds the rest of children and teenagers.
