For own needs, the cooperative has leased 2.100 land plots from residents of Cairaclia Village. Here, land is used and processed in zealous and proprietary manner. Mainly, cereals (wheat, rye, oats, corn) and technical crops (in particular, sunflower) are grown on 1.700 ha of leased areas. Both fields and plants are treated by machines and agricultural equipment, which was purchased mostly in the CIS-states and Italy (the enterprise possesses with more than 80 modern machines and mechanisms). Crop is distributed among lessors and partially is placed for storage or sold. Among leased areas, 110 hectares are planted with technical varieties of grape processed under special technology. Special attention is paid to works in nursery. Presently, planting stock (wildings and grafts) purchased from Italian producers is grown on 36 hectares (mainly, there are seedlings of such varieties as Cabernet, Pinot, Chardonnay, Alligote etc.). Tractors for nursery works are purchased also in Italy. Obtained planting stock is sold to other holdings. 300 persons are working in the cooperative (population of the village amounts to 2.300 persons). Young specialists, who are able to transform the holding into modern enterprise and to promote its prosperity, present most part of them. In the nearest future, APC «Dimitrov» plans to diversify its activity and to specialize in growing seedlings for consumers of the southern regions of the republic.
