Sufficiency and abundance of food create confidence in the future, provide people with real opportunity to work and to make money. Both private persons and collective farms are engaged in agricultural labor. The commercial society «Agrogled» LLC, successor of «Kelley Grains Taraclia», created in 2000 as an agricultural association for production and processing of traditional agricultural products, such as wheat, rye, barlev, sunflower and corn.
For this 3.200 hectares of land were leased (ownership of 1.200 peasants from Aluat and Albota villages of Taraclia district). Since it was intended to produce mainly corn and sunflower, the enterprise had esta-blished from the very beginning research fa-cilities for testing hybrid varieties delivered by producers from France, Moldova, Romania and other states of Balkan region. In order to do this, it collaborates with Se-lection Centers «Porumb» and «Selecţia» (Mol-dova), «Maisadur Semens» (France), «Stockson Chemicals» (USA). Making investments to research work and paying strong attention to experimental basis and selection, the enter-prise had obtained the series of own varieties of corn and sunflower. Currently, 80% of areas are sowed with these varieties, which are cultivated under special technologies using modern agricultural machinery (30 tractors, 7 combine harvesters, auxiliary machines and technical equipment) purchased from Ger-many, Ukraine and Russia. Part of the obtained crop (not less than 15%) is distributed among owners of the leased land, whereas another part is placed in storage in specially equipped storehouses (capacity of granaries is calculated for 25.000 tons of grain). In 2003, the storehouses of «Agrogled» were extended and re-equipped. The remaining part of crops is processed in laboratories and experimental sections of the association. More than 300 persons (3 mechanized crews) work on fields of the farm holding performing complex of the very diverse works on growing and processing of agricultural crops (wheat, rye, peas, sunflower), livestock fattening, provision with trading, repair and transport services. They work in workshops, at mills and oil-mills. In the nearest future, it is expected to build a bakery, restaurant, new commercial complex. «Agrogled» is funding the activity of educational institutions located on the territory of villages. Children and teenagers are provided with an opportunity to have free-of-charge rest in summer camps, to carry out various cultural and sport activities, to participate in entertainment events. All of this became possible due to the good organization and successful operation of the enterprise «Agrogled». |
