Nowadays, their appearance gladdens with its originality and expressiveness.This is contributed strongly by the suppliers of construction materials. They release on the market quality goods of various shapes and colors, which are resistant to climatic conditions and are ecologically pure.The integrated plant of construction materials «Macon», the biggest manufacturer of construction and heat insulating materials on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, is among such suppliers.In 1994, «Macon» (the successor of the Kishinau brick works) was transformed into a joint-stock company.Enterprise produces qualit\ bricks of various shapes and colors, articles from foam concrete, furnace ceramic tiles, majolica articles and other products with good soundproof, water- and cold resistance properties.Main direction of the enterprise's activity is production of bricks used for erection of externa] and internal walls of buildings, construction of furnaces and fireplaces, columns and arches, balconies, etc.It produces 18 types of traditional fire refractory, hollow bricks (more than 40 mln. bricks per year, which amounts to 70% of total quantity of breaks produced on the territory of Moldova). Special attention is paid here to improvement of product quality and to release of new product types oriented toward customers' demands. «Macon» bricks are in demand and are sold (especially, furnace bricks) everywhere in the republic through the broad distribution network.For the last years, new articles of architectural and construction ceramics produced at the enterprise are in great demand (two- and four-side tooled stones and elements for fences, trim stones, face textures).There are 600 qualified employees at the enterprise, which are true masters of their job.In 2002, products of «Macon» JSC were certified under international quality standard ISO 9001:2000.«Macon» JSC is a constant participant of «Moldconstruct» and «City» exhibitions, as well as of international exhibitions and fairs, where its products were marked with diplomas and medals. Thus, in 2000 and 2002, integrated plant was rewarded with diplomas and prizes for quality and competitiveness (first and second places). In 2003, at the «Trade Mark of the Year» competition, the enterprise was rewarded with the governmental award «Mercuriul de aur».
